Sleeping Duck was founded by two Melbourne-based engineers Selvam and Winston, in 2014. Frustrated by the expensive, tedious, and confusing process of buying a bed, the duo decided to roll up their sleeves and change the way the industry worked.
Since then, Sleeping Duck has won multiple awards across product and service, expanded our product range beyond mattresses, and we're now a 60 person team including Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Customer Experience and Technology, and are growing!
We are a leader in the sleep space and have ambitious plans this year which will see us releasing new products with major media campaigns, as we continue to make the sleep experience personal and exciting!
Our in-house Marketing & Creative team has taken Sleeping Duck from a little-known start-up to a household name in a few short years.
In the past 12 months, we’ve expanded and diversified our reach to advertise on all channels - "above the line" - radio, TV, billboards and digital channels - Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Podcasts, growing Sleeping Duck’s prompted brand awareness to 61% of all Australians.

This role is a one-of-a-kind in the marketing space. You will be exposed to both traditional and digital media, and how we use these channels to grow Sleeping Duck.
As our Media Specialist (Planning & Analytics) you will be in charge of analysing and reporting on growth performance across all channels - above the line (radio, TV, billboards), digital (FB, YT, Google) and owned (email, referrals). Identifying growth opportunities, you will be responsible for executing the media plan and administering the media spend.
Your focus will be on ensuring that our ads reach high quality target audiences, whilst optimising for the most cost efficient media prices. We already have strong relationships setup with our media partners - you will be responsible for the ongoing negotiation of rates and buying of advertising inventory. You will also be in charge of managing the spend in our digital advertising platforms.
Whilst a media background would be advantageous, industry experience is not an essential requirement. We are looking for a curious, skillful communicator with data analytics abilities. For this unique role, we are able to train you in our media buying process.
